The Consumers in Health Research: the Practicalities workshops will be held at University of Sydney, Camperdown on March 5 and Club Parramatta on March 20.

The four-hour face-to-face workshops are designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of involving consumers in research.

Two facilitators – one consumer, one researcher – will lead the workshop and encourage participants to engage in small group discussion on some of the important considerations in consumer-researcher collaborations.

The training will build on the initial success of similar workshops in 2024, offered in partnership with Health Consumers NSW.

“We ran these workshops for the first time last year and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive,” said Sydney Health Partners Research Director, Associate Professor Angela Todd.

“The workshops extend our training process and will help to upskill more people in the emerging area of people-powered research.”

Participants must be affiliated with one of SHP’s partner organisations and complete a one-hour online introductory course before attending a workshop.

The Consumers in Health Research: the Basics course is offered through the University of Sydney’s Short Courses website and is free for employees of Sydney Health Partners affiliates. To register your interest in the introductory course, click here.
