Projects and Initiatives

  • Development of virtual eMR derived clinical quality registries – Lead: Professor David Brieger
  • Established Implementation Pilot Grants: to encourage a Clinician to co-lead a diverse team of health professionals, clinicians, and researchers to develop, pilot or evaluate new cardiovascular health services and innovative approaches in cardiovascular clinical care.
  • Establishment of Cardiovascular Genetics Working Group in collaboration with the Genomics and Precision Medicine CAG to identify current CV Genetics Services in Australia including patient journeys and develop a new model of clinical care
  • Creation of membership survey and database
  • Finalised ToR for the CVCAG Leadership Team and EOI to recruit new members

Milestones

  • Greater connectivity with the health system, across LHDs and with NSW Health, to align activities and research priorities.
  • Increased membership of CAG with formal survey and database created which captures member’s affiliations, areas of expertise and research interests.
  • Connectivity with whole-of-pipeline CVI- fundamental discoveries relevant to clinical problems, with pathway for translation (including ASHRA and CAD Frontiers).
  • Active involvement of EMCRs; in the leadership team and event planning and supported as CIs on seed grants.
  • Launched and awarded 3 x Implementation Pilot Grants co-led by EMCRs to develop and or test an innovative MoC.
  • Delivered CV Genetics Workshop in collaboration with the Genomics and Precision Medicine CAG. This has generated manuscripts and a scope of work to investigate current practices and services, to map the patient’s journey and to understand the needs of consumers and stakeholders.
  • New Leadership Team established with representation across LHDs, discipline areas and career stages.

What’s next

Further Cross- CAG collaboration to effectively target priority areas identified, including establishment of working groups and delivery of workshops to target:
