Translating Research Into Better Health Outcomes

Sydney Health Partners aims to deliver the benefits of research innovation to our patients and communities more quickly and consistently.

As a National Health and Medical Research Council-accredited Research Translation Centre, our partnership seeks to demonstrate that new evidence-based interventions can be successfully implemented and scaled-up in large and diverse health systems.

The applied research our Partners lead results in clinicians doing things differently in their daily work, and at every level of healthcare. Together we speed the journey of great ideas into better health outcomes.

A Strong Partnership

Our partnership is made up of the Sydney, Northern Sydney, Western Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health Districts; the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (at Westmead), the University of Sydney and 11 affiliated medical research institutes.

Collectively, our health Partners care for 2.7 million people, representing more than 10 per cent of the Australian population and one third of people in New South Wales.

Our Partnership is founded on the strong leadership of our Local Health Districts, a long history of successful collaboration between the University and research institutes and our scale of operation.
