Projects and Initiatives

The CAG will focus on three pillars:

  • Integration of oral health: integrating oral health within chronic disease and medical pathways (cardiovascular disease, diabetes, nutrition, antenatal care, paediatrics, pharmacy-supported care).
  • Priority populations: children (0–14 years), older adults, people living with disability, refugee/CALD communities, and regional/remote NSW.
  • Digital health: enabling efficient triage, referral optimisation, remote monitoring, and workforce support.

Milestones

  • Oral Health CAG formally established across Sydney Local Health District, Western Sydney Local Health District and Nepean Blue Mountain Local Health District.
  • Inaugural leadership meeting completed and governance structure underway.

What’s next

  • Attracting new members across partner local health districts, with clinical, academic and consumer backgrounds.
  • Establishing a Consumer Advisory Group to embed consumer voice in oral health research translation priorities.
  • Evidence-to-practice mapping across the three CAG pillars – integrated chronic-disease pathways, priority populations, and digital health.
