New Resource for Decentralised Trials and TeleTrials
Sydney Health Partners has developed a new checklist to support the preparation and review of governance submissions for decentralised trials and teletrials.

The new checklist is designed to be used in tandem with other governance resources on SHP’s Knowledge Hub to provide clear, standardised guidance for additional requirements associated with increasingly popular decentralised and hybrid trial models.
The checklist was developed by the SHP led Governance Working Group, which includes Research Governance Officers (RGOs) from across Sydney Health Partners’ Local Health Districts and other health organisations in NSW. It provides a consistent framework to:
- Align governance review processes across sites
- Support researchers and RGOs with a clear, easy to apply tool
- Ensure high quality, safe research across diverse health settings.
It also covers the unique steps required for decentralised and teletrial governance reviews, including additional documentation, submission conditions, and ensuring clear designation of responsibilities between primary and satellite sites to reduce ambiguity and support efficient coordination.
The Decentralised Trials Research Governance Review Checklist is designed to be used alongside the recently updated Governance Submission Checklist for Researchers and Governance Checklist for Research Governance Officers.
