About the Group

The Cardiovascular Clinical Academic Group (CV CAG) aims to deliver improved cardiovascular health outcomes through high impact multidisciplinary and collaborative research.  The CV CAG is the research translation focus of the broader Cardiovascular Initiative (CVI) network, a strategic partnership between Sydney Health Partners, the University of Sydney’s Charles Perkins Centre and the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

The CVI has six multidisciplinary pipelines each co-led by a fundamental researcher and clinician, to help achieve its vision:

  • Implementation and Policy

The CV CAG focuses on activities in capacity and capability building in research translation and an emphasis on EMCRs and clinician researchers across the Big Data, Clinical Trials and Implementation and Policy pipelines.

Objectives

Through a focus on health system integration and multidisciplinary research translation, the CV CAG aims to improve health outcomes for current and future generations of cardiovascular patients.

  • Focus and align cardiovascular research across the translational pathway with the needs of the health services.
  • Deliver deeper collaboration and great efficiency to drive excellence, scale, and impact of cardiovascular research.
  • Increase competitiveness for research funding and a heightened recognition for cardiovascular research.
