29-30 September 2022

The National Indigenous Research(er) Capacity Building Network (IRNet) of the Australian Health Research Alliance (AHRA) will hold its second annual National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Showcase in Sydney in September.

Proudly supported by the Sydney Health Partners and hosted by the University of Sydney, the IRNet Showcase will bring together leaders in Indigenous health and medical research from across Australia under the theme of Our Voice – Our Research – Our Future

The conference will discuss emerging diseases, the impact of new technologies on health care and research and improving the translation and health impact of research to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

A highlight of the IRNet Showcase will be the official launch of the National Network for First Nations Research, a ground-breaking $10 million program funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council . The Network brings together almost 100 leaders in Indigenous health and medical research, and is led by Professor Gail Garvey, Professor Alex Brown, Professor Sandra Eades and Dr. Janine Mohamed.

The conference will also feature abstract presentations by leading and emerging researchers from across the country.
