UNLOCKING RESEARCH: Symposium 2018
University of Sydney
How do we close the gap between what we know can optimize health and health care and what actually gets implemented into everyday practice?
Sydney Health Partners and the University of Sydney tackled the challenge at their second annual Implementation Science Symposium, held at the University of Sydney, on 19 November 2018.
UNLOCKING RESEARCH: Health System Improvement through Effective Implementation featured a keynote address by University of Michigan Professor Anne Sales - Co-Editor-in-Chief of Implementation Science, the discipline’s leading journal, and Research Scientist at the Center for Clinical Management Research, VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.
The symposium brought 160 people from academia, health services, government and business to the University of Sydney to discuss how the relatively new discipline of implementation science might be applied to reduce the lengthy time lag between a health or medical research discovery and its introduction into clinical practice.
