Held in the new Susan Wakil Health Building at the University of Sydney, the Forum featured a keynote address from the Secretary, NSW Health, Elizabeth Koff - and concluding remarks from the Chancellor of the University of Sydney, Belinda Hutchinson.

Panel discussions included lessons learned about research translation during the COVID-19 pandemic, how to maximise the benefits of clinical trials to health services, and future priorities for the Partnership.

Sydney Health Partners Executive Director Don Nutbeam spoke to attendees about the Partnership’s revised strategy, which will see it transition from the current structure of streams and themes to translational research networks in the form of Clinical Academic Groups (CAGs). Most of the support SHP will offer to the CAGs will be through four consolidated operational platforms:

Professor Nutbeam said that Sydney Health Partners will maintain its distinctiveness amongst Advanced Health Research and Translation Centres in Australia by remaining health services led.
